President's Message

Message from the President, Kathy Freitas

Welcome to the Coppell Women’s Club website! This is a place you can come to get information about your club.

I am pleased to have been elected your President for the 2017-2018 club year. This will be my fourth year on your Board having previously held a position in Community Services for two years and most recently as your Vice President. I feel blessed to have met so many wonderful women since I became a member in 2013 and hope to meet many more as we see new members join our club.

Our membership consists of women of all ages who are interested in meeting new friends, cultivating new interests and having fun. It is also an opportunity for entertainment and to learn about our community and surrounding areas. If you are already a member, I hope that you will renew your membership. If you are a visiting guest, I hope you will consider becoming a member and learning more about our club.

Our Board of Directors work together as a team to plan programs and activities we believe you will enjoy which includes programs, luncheons, special interest groups and community service projects. I think we have put together an amazing Board of Directors and you won’t want to miss out on what we have planned for this year. This is your club and we welcome any suggestions or ideas you might have for any of our activities

Our general meetings or luncheons are held on the first Wednesday of each month from September through May. We have a Holiday luncheon in December which will include time to visit with friends and do some shopping! We are pleased to have a variety of items to purchase, many featured by local vendors.

The first Wednesday of each month from September through May we hold a general meeting or a luncheon.  For our general meetings, we have programs on a variety of topics of interest to our membership.  Prior to the program we enjoy a half-hour of refreshments and socializing followed by a short period of time for announcements.  In December we hold our Holiday Luncheon, complete with local vendors purveying a variety of unique products.  In May we like to choose a fun theme for our spring luncheon, which serves as our last official meeting of the season.

Our many Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) form the core of our activities.  These are smaller groups of women who get together regularly to engage in activities of mutual interest.  We currently have about twenty-five SIG’s, ranging from Lunch Bunch and Excursions to Golf, Bridge and Mahjong to Movies, Dining Out, and Gourmet Cooking.  Not to mention several book clubs.  Do you have a special interest you’d like to share?  You’re likely to find some takers among our membership!  In August, we convene for a Welcome Back Coffee at which the coordinators of each SIG provide information and an opportunity to sign up.  This is an excellent opportunity for potential members to learn more about our club.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to engage with a group of active, fun and supportive women, I hope you’ll check us out!
